At The Handle Bar, our commitment to wellness runs deep.
We are committed to improving the lives of others physically, mentally and emotionally. With that, we have to look at the whole picture: How do our classes impact the lives of our community members, and how can we spread this positive impact even further? We are fortunate to have a compassionate and ever-evolving team dedicated to answering this question, which is how we were able to launch Handle With Care.
Handle With Care is a movement to raise awareness on mental health and battle the stigma associated with mental illness. Handle With Care is rooted in our mission, offering resources and support internally, as well as educational, philanthropic events in our local communities, all tied to educating ourselves on the intricacies of mental health and dismantling the stigma against mental illness. We’ve witnessed how strong the ties between exercise and mental health are, and we remind ourselves of that as we motivate, inspire and lead our members through every class.
In 2021, we’ve decided to take it a step further. We know that giving inspires more giving, and with that knowledge, we’ve introduced our Donation Model, where YOU are able to donate to incredible nonprofit organizations such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Loveland Foundation, Big Sister Boston and the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, simply by shopping at The Handle Bar. Starting in 2021, 1% of every purchase will be donated to our featured nonprofit organization of the quarter, all of whom are partners we have grown lasting relationships with over the years, due to their mission and values that align closely with ours.
